As we age, maintaining muscle strength and mobility is vital to well-being. Sarcopenia, the gradual loss of muscle mass and function, weakens mobility, increases fall risk, and affects independence. Physiotherapy, through targeted exercises, strength training, and movement strategies, helps restore confidence in movement and quality of life.
Join Marcus Tow in our 44th Wellness Series as he explores physiotherapy’s role in sarcopenia prevention and management, empowering older adults to stay active and independent.
A registered physiotherapist with a BSc Physiotherapy (Hons) from Singapore Institute of Technology and Trinity College Dublin, Marcus has extensive experience across hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers, specialising in neurorehabilitation, geriatrics, orthopaedics, palliative care, and dementia care. At Allium Healthcare, he manages rehabilitation, serves as a clinical educator, and chairs the falls prevention committee.
